BIOGRAPHY
& ARTISTIC STATEMENT

Born in France in 1990, Yuandy is an artist whose journey is defined by an early fascination with Asia. This attraction first manifested through the discipline of body and mind: badminton. As a player, coach, and entrepreneur, he drew from this sport—deeply rooted in Asian tradition—a sense of discipline and a foundational spiritual connection with the Orient.

The true turning point occurred in 2014 through an intimate and decisive encounter: his wife, of Chinese origin. She became his muse and his gateway to a profound immersion in the culture of the Middle Kingdom. By 2016, Yuandy took up the brush to capture this new reality.

However, it was in 2023, during a pivotal exhibition in Lyon, that his true vocation emerged as undeniable. Yuandy then decided to devote himself fully to a unique approach: creating a dialogue between visual art and millennia-old Chinese symbolism.

Today, his work is a fusion. He does not merely paint China; he reinterprets it with a contemporary gaze, weaving ties between iconic images and written wisdom, offering the viewer a modern, universal, and soothing vision of this cultural heritage.

The Art of Resonance

At the confluence of millennia-old Chinese heritage and literary modernity, Yuandy’s work is an invitation to a motionless journey. More than just a painting, each canvas is a silent dialogue where the visual symbol meets the power of the written word.

His unique signature lies in this fusion: extracting emblematic motifs from Chinese culture—ritual objects, fragments of nature, spiritual icons—to engage them with the poetry of text.

Far from being a mere illustration, the writing reveals the soul of the symbol, offering a contemporary and universal reinterpretation of tradition.

In a world seeking meaning, Yuandy goes beyond representation; he translates the invisible. His creations are windows opening onto a timeless spirituality, designed to inhabit the space and soothe the mind. An aesthetic of harmony, where East and West no longer clash, but converse.
